Ramadhan Special

Ramadhan is the most awaited time for most people in Malaysia.  Why?  The food, of course!!  I remembered one of my foreign friends said once "Malaysia's definitely a food paradise".  Really??  Geez, I'm not sure, for I never been outside of Malaysia (except Singapore, which is not that much different compared to Malaysia).  I have to agree that we have a very wide variety of food here, and most of them are available 24-7!!  Like Mommy said, living in Malaysia is a blessing, form the day you born till the day you die, food is our air!  Mommy, I don't know anyone who breathe food (mm..sucking the noodles through the nose?  Yucks!!)

The food feast has becoming more and more colourful with the arrival of Ramadhan.  If you don't believe me, try to visit any Bazaar Ramadhan and I bet my purse that you'll find at least one never-heard-in-this world cuisine.  As for me, I seldom look for the weird ones.  I always head to the best nasi ayam stall in my neighbourhood Bazaar.  I know, some people might go "What?  Nasi ayam?  Bukan bulan puasa pun boleh dapat"  Yea, I know but this kakak only sells her nasi ayam during Ramadhan.  Even though I'm on the phase of not-eating-any-chicken (that's include the eggs) coz I found out that chickens give me pimples (really!!) but I'm willing to take the risk just to have the yummylicious nasi ayam.

However, to my disapointment, the kakak decided not do any nasi ayam this year.  Huwaaaa!!  I'm so broken-hearted!!  But good thing is, I don't have to deal with pimples haha!!  So to cure my broken-hearted, I found a new dish to hunt for.  It's called Sarabai (I'm not sure how to spell it tho).  It's like some apam beras bakar (it is apam beras bakar), eaten with sweet durian gravvy.  It only sells during Ramadhan and it's selling like goreng pisang panas, you really have to fight to get one!  Even though it's kinda costly (RM2.50 for 5 small pieces) but both me and Mommy think that it's worth the fight haha!  Perhaps I should snap some photos of it tomorrow, if I could remember hehe.

Anyways, happy food hunting everyone!!!
